As we approach the end of Q1, let’s draw inspiration from the track. Watch how runners finish a race—with every ounce of energy, they SPRINT to the finish line! They use every last bit of strength to ensure they cross the finish line first, often leaning forward with their chests to gain that crucial edge.
You’ve worked so hard this first quarter; don’t let it slip away now. Don’t coast to the end of the quarter. Accelerate to the finish line. Fortunately, you have 31 days to do this in March. Athletes like Dave Wottle had only a few meters to ensure their victory. And so can you!
Here are a two examples to motivate you.
Dave Wottle: At the 1972 Munich Olympics, Wottle, wearing his golf cap, fell far behind in the 800 meters but made an incredible comeback in the final stretch to win gold. His determination and last-gasp effort are a perfect example of finishing hard.
Matthew Boling: At the 2019 Texas UIL Championships, Boling ran the anchor leg of the 4×400 meters relay. Starting several seconds behind, he sprinted the final lap with incredible speed to secure victory for his team. His relentless push in the last moments exemplifies the power of a strong finish.
Therefore I encourage you to finish hard! Drive for the results you desire and set yourself up for success in Quarter 2.
Let’s close Q1 strong! #FinishHard #Q1Goals #Motivation
