Today, I will like to give you VLC tips, which are sorely needed. These are on synching your subtitles to your videos and synching your audio to your videos.
When your subtitles are out of sync with the video
Once you have your subtitles you may realize that the pace of the video are slower or faster than the sub titles. This is where you have to syncing your video with VLC sub titles.
- Note down how fast or slow the subs are (for example the subtitles may be 10 seconds slower than the video).
- In the VLC application, go to view, and then advanced controls.
- More controls are shown on the VLC application window
- Click the 4th button to your right. It looks like 3 horizontal bars. It comes with the pop up Show extended settings.
- Click synchronization tab.
- Since our example is 10 seconds slower, we enter -10.000. This then hastens the subs titles by 10 seconds.
- Problem solved!
Fixing your “Out of Sync” Audio
This is as simple as ABC. You can manually set the audio offset while playing
- The default keys to increase/decrease the offset are Ctrl+J and Ctrl+K, which work for Ubuntu.
- In some cases, the keys to increase/decrease the offset are Ctrl+K and Ctrl+L.
If you have any issues, do let me know. And of course do like or comment you thoughts about the post.
Cheers!
